The original religion of the Sa’dan-Toraja was named Aluk to Dolo (literally: ‘Ritual of the Ancients’). Sometimes a somewhat briefer form is used, Alukta. The suffix ta probably is derived from tau, man, people, so that the term may be translated as Ritual (Religion) of Man.
