The Kalika Mata temple dates back to the 10th century. The Kalika Mata Temple is one of the Shaktipeeths and is also known as the Shatrunjay Temple. Located at the base of Pavagadh hill, Gebanshah’s Vav or step well is one simple yet sophisticated water management structure worth mentioning. Vav is the Gujarati term for a step well. Supposed to have been built in the 16th century by a fakir named Gebanshah, this step well is of the Nanda type.
